Lifelines

23.05.2002 -
18.08.2002

The special feature of the exhibition is the connection with the works of Werner Stötzer's life partner, Sylvia Hagen. A comparison of the two works of art reveals the different perspectives of body, form and material.

Werner Stötzer's sculptures have been part of the Magdeburg cityscape for many years. These include some of the main works by the artist, who was born in Sonneberg / Thuringia in 1931. This also includes the "Reclining 'Die Werra'" from 1972. The Kunstmuseum Magdeburg is therefore particularly happy to be able to provide a comprehensive insight into the work of the sculptor, who lives in Alt Langsow near Berlin, with the current exhibition. The special feature of the exhibition is the connection with the works of Werner Stötzer's life partner, Sylvia Hagen (born 1947 in Treuenbrietzen). A comparison of the two works of art reveals the different perspectives of body, form and material. The design of the exhibition makes the proximity and distance of the artistic positions clear. This turns the exposure into an exciting and stimulating dialogue, also with the viewer.
